“Plunge” into the unknown from tomorrow for Greek polo

As the energy crisis is the biggest foe, the A1 men’s and women’s polo competitions start tomorrow. Team transfers portend competitive championships, but the wish of all residents of the area is that the pools do not close.

“The bet is to keep the pools open. We hope that the good weather will last as long as possible, because if we make extreme decisions and the pools are closed, then the championship may not be finished,” federal coach Todoris Vlachos, who will see the event from the stands 22 years later, told K. as it is only at the “helm” of the national team.

Most of the teams have formed strong lineups and many surprises are expected. “Compared to last year, it will be more competitive. Olympiacos has strengthened, but it is impossible to make predictions for the remaining positions. There will also be a competition for accommodation,” Mr. Vlahos stressed.

The game that will lift the curtain on the tournament will be the match between Nireos Chalandrios and Panathinaikos (13.45) in the men’s A1 division. The rest of the schedule: 15.00: Ethnikos – Chios, 15.30: Chania – Apollon Smyrnis, 16.00: Vouliagmeni – PAOK, Hydraikos – AEK, 16.30: Peristeri – Glyfada, 18.00: AO P. Faliro – Ilysiakos, 19.00: Panionios – Olympiakos.

Women A1: 14.00: SV Patrons – AEK, 15.00: PAOK – Alimos, 16.30: Ethnikos – Rethymnon, 17.30: Glyfada – Vouliagmeni, 18.00: Larisa – Panionios, Peristeri – Olympiakos.
