Champions League: goals in Europe ‘rained’

We had another impressive night in the Champions League as there were 24 goals scored in the first eight matches of the third group match. In the evening derby, Inter beat Barcelona 1-0 in Milan and moved to 2nd place in Group 3 with 6 points, losing to Bayern, who defeated Viktoria Pilsen 5-0 and became absolute champion.

Napoli continue their impressive streak by throwing a party in Amsterdam, beating Ajax 6-1. Partenopeia have three wins in the same number of matches with 13 goals in favor and only 2 against. Liverpool climbed to 2nd in Group 1 after 2-0 over trailing Rangers at Anfield and with Cimica in the Reds’ starting XI.

Club Brugge were great too, beating the disappointing and final Atlético Madrid 2-0 and leading Group 2 with three wins in those first three matches. In another game, Porto also beat Leverkusen 2-0, in a match with many twists and turns in their development due to VAR.

Big victories for Inter, Club Brugge and Napoli – Atlético disappoint away.

In the 4th group, Marseille stood out with a 4-1 win over leaders Sporting CP, where the French scored their first three points of the competition and Eintracht-Tottenham were left 0-0 in the “worst” match evenings.

As for the second leg of the third round of the Champions League groups, the match in London, where Chelsea hosts Milan, stands out in particular. The English are “burning” with victory, as they have only one point in the first two games, and if they lose “at home” to the Milanese, then they are far from the first place. In another Group E match, Salzburg hosts Dynamo Kiev. In the 6th group, Real Madrid – Shakhtar and Leipzig – Celtic play, and in the 7th group Copenhagen is waiting for Manchester City, and Sevilla – in Dortmund. As for Group 8, Juventus host Maccabi Haifa and the Italians are now playing with their backs to the wall as they already have two defeats at the start and need three points at all costs to close the gap to the top two, where “Paris S.Z.” and “Benfica”, which at the same time will hold its “battle” in Lisbon.
