The car that set the record is based on the BMW 118d, which received all-wheel drive from the BMW 330d xDrive. The engine is taken from the BMW 335d in combination with an eight-speed automatic transmission from the BMW X6.

The model prepared by Dragos Stecescu (CompleteCHIP Iași) became the fastest BMW diesel in history, took first place in the national ranking of diesel cars and also in Romanian cars, improving the national record for diesel cars after it came first. a time below the 9-second threshold that also holds Stecescu.

The 402 m (quarter mile) time recorded was 8.31 seconds and the top speed was 270 km/h. The Stăcescu-prepared model was clocked at 1.87 seconds for 0-100 km/h acceleration, needed another 2.84 seconds for 200 km/h and another 2.44 seconds for the 250 km/h threshold.

Approximately 75% of transmission and engine parts are genuine BMW parts (drive shafts, planetary gears, groups, transfer case)

The driver has a long career in drag racing, where he set absolute records and diesel records, all with models prepared by him and the CompleteCHIP Iasi team.

The current model is an evolution of a project launched in 2018, which was later transferred to the base 1 Series starting in winter 2019.
