OUR George Bartzokas was posted in a special tribute on the ESAKE website to give his opinion on the new Basket League season.
Greek champion coach Olympiacupredicted that his team will have an even more difficult mission this year, as they are called upon to defend the summit, which he says is always the aim of the Piraeus club, as well as play a major role in the Euroleague.
“Our mission this year is even more difficult than last year because we are the potential champions of Greece. This means that everyone will have the added motivation to beat us, but we will also have… the burden of maintaining what we have achieved,” he stressed.
“In addition, most of the teams have improved significantly, which means that this year’s championship will be even more competitive.”
He added: “However, none of this changes our goal, which was and remains the pinnacle. After all, when you’re at Olympiacos, there’s no point in aiming for anything less. This year we have built a strong team by “building” a basic body with the goal of becoming a star, just like last year, in Greece and Europe. I wish all the teams a good season, health and sportsmanship.”
