The 2020 European Championship was held in 11 European cities, including Bucharest.

Aleksander Čeferin and the main problem of the EU in several countries: the huge distances covered by citizens

Ceferin believes that the idea of holding the European Championship on the model of Euro-2020 is not the best, considering that the national teams had to overcome thousands of kilometers in a limited time.

“Switzerland played a match in Rome, then in Baku, and some teams played at home all the time.

Those who did not travel and played at home reached the finals. We do not like this concept at all.

It was a good idea. It was the 60th anniversary of the Euro, a certain pan-European friendship…

These were elements of this idea. I’m not saying she was bad.

But I feel that the EU should take place in one or two countries, if we are talking about smaller countries.” – Oleksandr Cheferinreports News.ro.

The final tournament of the 2024 European Championship will be held in Germany.
