FCSB were on the verge of a big result at the London Stadium where they led West Ham United for almost 70 minutes in their opening group match, but ended up losing 1-3, the decisive moment being a controversial penalty awarded for knocking.

The Romanian vice-champion is currently in last place in the group, but retains a chance to go further; the first place directly qualifies for the 1/8 finals, and for the second place it will play in the 1/8 finals of the competition with one of the teams that will take the 3rd place in the UEFA Europa League groups.

Meanwhile, Nicolae Dike’s side have managed just one draw in the Super League, a 1-1 draw at the National Arena with FC Voluntari, and after 10 legs are only 13th in the table with eight points (FKSHB have played just eight matches; they still have to appeal two debts).

Gigi Bekali announced that he will be present at the National Arena after a long period in which he chose to watch his team’s matches only on TV: “I will also go to the match. I haven’t been for two or three years. N – I have emotions, I’m going to the theater! What will be, will be! I’ve only sold 26,000 tickets online and there’s still time before the match… I took a penny, bye! I still have 600,000 – 700,000 euros from tickets! Now we can make investments, because we have somewhere to go!”.

Anderlecht won the first leg of the group 1-0 at home to Silkeborg, but the atmosphere in the group is extremely tense in the Belgian capital, with fans furious after the league defeat to newly promoted Westerlo and marched into the team’s training camp, where they demanded the resignation of the coach Felice Mazzu, installed in the summer in place of Vincent Kompany.

Anderlecht are only 10th in the Pro League with 10 points from eight stages; after an excellent start to the season, in which they eliminated Young Boys Bern from the UEFA Conference League play-offs and won three of the first four stages, a draw and three defeats for the purple and whites came in their last four league matches.

Superbet offers odds of 1.57 for a home win or a draw in FCSB – Anderlecht.
