The Bosnian national football team will play a friendly match against Russia on November 19 in St. Petersburg. Russian national teams of all levels were suspended from participation in all UEFA tournaments.
The Russians were isolated after the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. The national football team is trying to cancel friendly matches.
Matches against Kyrgyzstan and Iran have already been announced. It is expected that the match against Bosnia will cause a serious reaction in UEFA, and it is possible that sanctions will be introduced.
The Russian teams have applied to CAS to lift the ban. CSKA, Zenit (St. Petersburg), Dynamo (Moscow) and Sochi appealed to the arbitration court.
Four Russian teams took first place in the league and secured (theoretically) a ticket to European competition. However, they will not take part in UEFA competitions. However, CAS denied the groups’ appeal.
