Ciprian Tetaruşanu and the reason why he was not included in Milan’s Champions League list

There are certain rules for forming the squad for the group stage of the Champions League. They are as follows:

  • at least 2 goalkeepers in the team;
  • at least 4 players who have been brought up in the club for at least 3 years between the ages of 15 and 21;
  • at least 8 players who have grown up in the club’s home country for at least 3 years between the ages of 15 and 21;
  • remaining players up to 25, no limit.

Thus, Ciprian Teterushanu was left out of the squad to the detriment of Antonio Mirante (39 years old), as he is Italian and played his entire career on the peninsula, reports Prosport.

Pioli thus made room on the roster for other players who were not brought up by AC Milan or another Italian club.

At the same time, Pioli also did not include Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the list for the Champions League.
