​Aleksandra Kadanzu-Ignatic advanced to the second round of qualifying for the 2022 US Open, the final Grand Slam tournament of the year, on Tuesday after defeating American Alicia Parks (150 WTA) in three sets.

Oleksandra, who is ranked 160 in the world, lost the first set 6-0, but made an impressive comeback to win after an hour and 38 minutes of play: 6-3, 6-1.

  • In the next round of qualification, our athlete will meet with Misaki Doi (94 WTA, favorite 7), after the Japanese easily beat the Italian Lucrezia Stefanini (233 WTA), score 6-2, 6-0.
  • Having passed in the second round of qualification, Oleksandra secured a check for $33,600 and 20 points in the WTA ranking.
