
OUR Lefteris Petrunias won the gold medal on the rings at the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships held in Munich. The Greek athlete rose to the highest level, writing his name in “golden” letters in the history of sports.
The athlete of Dimitris Raftis scored 15,133 points and became the European champion for the sixth time in his career. To date, the Tokyo bronze medalist has won five titles (Montpellier 2015, Berne 2016, Cluj 2017, Glasgow 2018, Basel 2021).
Petrunyas accomplished the rare feat of becoming a leading figure in the history of European gymnastics. The Greek athlete equaled Hungarian side horse specialist Christian Berki, who alone set the all-time record with six titles in the same event (2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012).
The silver medal was won by Asil from Turkey. Briton Tulloch completed the podium trio.
