Jacqueline Christian underwent knee surgery at the beginning of the year and was out for almost six months. Coach Thomas Drouet announced on Friday that our athlete has recovered and will participate in the US Open 2022.
Jacqueline Christian will play at the US Open 2022
Jackeli was injured during a match against Daria Kasatkina at the WTA in Doha (February 22). Drouet spoke on Instagram about the difficult moments experienced by the Romanian, and clarified that she will be present at Flushing Meadows.
“It’s been a long journey, 5.5 months without competition… starting with surgery and then 3 months of recovery, many moments of doubt, but we fought hard.
Then the sun came up, and we started hitting the ball again. It was a new experience for me as a trainer, I spent many days and nights thinking about what I could do best to help her. Then hours became days, days became weeks, and weeks became months. Now it’s time to enjoy every moment… US Open here we come.
Each event provides an opportunity to learn to improve and become better. Again, I learned a lot from this story” – Thomas Droueton Instagram.
