Changes that will take place in Formula 1 from 2026 – New power plants

The new power plant will retain the high-revving 1.6-liter V6 engine. However, it will also have a significantly higher power output and use 100% sustainable fuel.

Part of the current power unit will be completely changed, which meets the requirements of the Volkswagen concern for joining Formula 1.

Audi or Porsche from the Volkswagen concern are approaching participation in Formula 1

The changes approved from 2026 in Formula 1 are to the liking of the Volkswagen group.

The Audi and Porsche brands are already in talks with teams from the Grand Circus about joining them.

At the end of July, a document appeared in the public domain stating that RedBull will sell 50% of the shares of the Porsche Formula 1 team.

The deal was published in error and RedBull boss Christian Horner said talks with Porsche were becoming more constructive, although there were still some reservations, according to Reuters.

At the same time, Audi could enter Formula 1 with Sauber, the Swiss company that runs the Alfa Romeo team.
