Dejan Radonich and Arturas Gudaitis have been in Athens since noon Tuesday (August 16). Clover is counting down to the start of preparations for the new season.

Upon arrival, the team’s coach kept a low profile. He even added that Panathinaikos needed another player.

“First of all, I would like to thank all of you who came here to greet me. My decision to accept Panathinaikos’ offer was an easy one. It’s a great club and I’m honored to work for it. I have always respected Panathinaikos as an opponent and thought it would be a great opportunity for me,” he said in his first statements on Greek soil and continued: “We have talked a lot with people from the team since the day I signed the contract. We analyzed what kind of players we have and what kind of players we need. We have created a new team with a lot of new faces and it will take a lot of work from us. I think we need another player. In the coming days, we will try to choose the most suitable option to make a really good move.”

Speaking about the style his team wants to play, he stressed: “To be competitive in the Euroleague, we need to be good on both sides of the field, both in defense and in attack. I think we can do it.”

Arturas Gudaitis also said that he is looking forward to the new season. The Lithuanian center emphasized that he wants to plunge into the atmosphere of the derby.

For Papajannis: “We can make each other better in training with our passion and help each other get better throughout the season.”

For his purposes: “I know where I came from, to a club with a huge history, probably the best in the last 20 years, and there are requirements. I am very happy with this opportunity and my goal is to win game after game and get better every day.”

For lineup changes: “I need time to answer. We have the players to achieve our goal. But now it’s all speculation. The coach should see us in training, it’s too early to answer even for the style of play.”

Of his presence and what he will bring with Grigonis: “We have a passion for basketball. We know why we are here. We know the history of the club and I repeat it, but it’s important. There are fans who bet big on the club and we have to give 100% every night because it’s important to them. Grigonis is, first of all, an amazing guy and a very talented player who can create and shoot for the team.”

Derby with Olympiacos: “Of course, derby days are the best. Every player dreams of playing in such an atmosphere, and you should enjoy it.”
