The 37-year-old Lusitanian star sat out United’s tours of Thailand and Australia this summer for personal reasons and has said he wants to leave the English club, where he returned at the start of last season.

According to sports media, he would like to reach a team that will compete in the Champions League, Manchester United will play in the Europa League in the next edition.

Florentino Perez believes Ronaldo is too old to play for Real Madrid.

At the European Super Cup (which Real won 2-0 against Eintracht), Madrid president Florentino Perez was asked by fans why he wasn’t bringing Cristiano Ronaldo to the Spanish capital.

Perez answered immediately: “Cristiano? Again? He is 38 years old!”.

Cristiano Ronaldo played nine seasons in the shirt of Madrid, then moved to Juventus, from where he moved to Manchester United last summer.
