The European swimming championship among seniors in Rome has already started, and on Friday five tricolors will compete, including David Popovichi.

Romania’s participation will be opened by Oleksandr Victorica Bogdaneci in the preliminaries of the 50m butterfly at 10:00 a.m. (Romanian time).

David Popovici, Patrick Sebastian Dinu, George-Alexandru Stoica-Konstantin and Mihai Gergely will perform in the preliminary competitions of 100 m freestyle (10:10).

The semi-finals of two competitions will also take place on Friday (7:42 p.m. and 7:33 p.m., respectively).

1,500 athletes from 50 countries will compete at the European Championship. They will be competing for 231 medals, which the organizers will be raffling off over 11 days of events in swimming, diving, synchronized swimming, open water swimming and high diving.
