Vlad Daskelu was injured in the US preliminaries on Snow and his knee has not fully recovered, so he did not start Sunday’s Olympic XCO race at Mont St. Anne.

The race was won by the Frenchman Titouan Carod (1 hour 24 minutes 48 seconds). The Canadian’s podium was completed by the Swiss Filippo Colombo (1 min. 41 s) and the Spaniard David Valero Serrano (1 min. 44 s).

In the World Cup ranking, Swiss Nino Schurter remains the leader with 1,483 points, followed by Valero Serrano (1,358) and Italian Luca Braido (1,343). Now Vlad Daskelu is in sixth place, having scored 1227 points.

The ninth stage, the last one in the World Cup calendar, will be held from September 2 to 4 in Val di Sole (Italy).

But until then, the MTB World Cup will give way to the MTB World Championship, which is scheduled for August 24-28 in France, in Le Jeux, reports Agerpres.
