
Leandro Pereira do Nascimento Lo, an eight-time world jiu-jitsu champion, was killed Sunday morning in Sao Paulo, Brazil, after suffering a fatal head injury.
Leandro Lo, for unknown reasons, fought with a man in an exclusive club in Sao Paulo, and the fighter pinned the man with a martial arts technique (“arm lock”).
After freeing himself, the man took out a gun and shot the athlete in the head.
A few hours later, the Brazilian suffered brain damage and later died.
The attacker fled the scene, but was later caught by authorities, Mundo Deportivo reports.
Since 2011, Leandro Lo has won eight world championship titles. He also won the Pan American Championship eight times and the Brazilian National Jiu-Jitsu Championship four times.
