Greiner, 31, a two-time Olympic champion, was detained at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport on February 17. Cartridges of hash oil were found in her luggage. Since then he has been in prison.
Greiner pleaded guilty during her trial. However, he noted that he did not intend to break any laws.
The basketball player said she was prescribed medical marijuana in the United States to treat chronic injuries. However, in Russia it is prohibited for both medical and recreational purposes.
