New Democracy submitted to the Supreme Court today a memorandum signed by its President Kyriakos Mitsotakis, against the announcement of the association of independent candidates of Kasidiaris, as well as any other association in which he is the real leader.
As the party said in a statement, “New Democracy, as a government, has taken the lead in enacting legislative rules to prevent criminal organizations from entering parliament under the guise of a political party. Unlike SYRIZA, which voted against the ban, it has not filed a memorandum against the Kasidiaris Party’s election announcement on 21 May, and has not yet submitted a memorandum for the upcoming elections.New Democracy, with a sense of responsibility towards the Greek people, undertakes to always be at the forefront of the struggle for democracy,” the statement said.
A copy of the ND memorandum is attached. which was filed at Areio Pagos.
It is recalled that on Saturday, PASOK-Movement for Change filed a memorandum with Division A1 of the Supreme Court to prevent Kasidiaris from running again in the elections and entering the Greek Parliament.
