
THE electric bicycles, or e-bikes, are becoming increasingly popular among the French, both for short and medium trips, especially in the city. They offer a good alternative to motorized vehicles thanks to their electric assistance that allows you to drive many kilometers effortlessly.
To help you buy an electric bike, there are several purchase aids : they have been strengthened and extended for this year 2023, and there is also a local aid that can be combined with them. Here are the various e-bike shopping aids that exist in 2023!
Electric bicycles: state aid for purchase
In 2023 ecological bonus for the purchase of an electric bicycle (VAE), is now 400 euros (or 40% of the purchase price). Provided for the purchase of a new bicycle with an electric drive, subject to income : in fact, your basic taxable income per unit must be less than or equal to €6,358, otherwise you must be excluded.
If your basic taxable income per unit is between €6,358 and €14,089, this bonus is reduced to €300.
If you wish to purchase a cargo bike (a bicycle equipped to transport people or goods), a folding bicycle (with or without pedals) or an electric bicycle trailer, this allowance can reach €2,000 if your taxable income per unit is less than or equal to €6,358 or you are disabled. The bonus is €1,000 if your taxable income per unit is between €6,358 and €14,089, or for companies, associations and communities.
Electric bikes: and conversion bonus?
Electric bikes can also benefit conversion bonus : this is in exchange for writing off an old gasoline (before 2006) or diesel (before 2011) car, a bonus of 40% of the purchase price electric bike, maximum 1500 euros.
However, this bonus is reserved for people whose basic taxable income is between €6,358 and €22,983. But if your basic taxable income is less than or equal to €6,358 or if you have a disability, this bonus can be increased to a maximum of €3,000.
