
On Tuesday, May 23, a joint LIVEX exercise (live exercise) between IAF fighters and Israeli Air Force (IAF) aircraft was held in a wide area south of Crete.
The Air Force participated in the joint exercise with 53 F-16 sorties, and from the IAF, 2 B707 Tanker tankers from 120 Squadron (Desert Giants) participated.
The purpose of the event was, as stated in the GHETHA statement, to train, familiarize and coordinate F-16 crews on mid-air refueling (AAR) procedures day and night.
These joint exercises, which are held twice a year, have contributed to increasing the level of operational readiness, combat capability, the exchange of know-how and the improvement of the multi-level military synergy of the armed forces of the two countries, the head of the department concludes.
