Yesterday, the Prime Minister spoke in detail about his (not) relationship with Nikos Androulakis. Kyriakos Mitsotakis spoke of the PASOK President’s obsession with him. “He has a personal obsession with me, he attacks with harsh characteristics, he thinks I’m the problem, not N.D., and I find it a bit intrusive,” he said characteristically and responded to the criticism he received by saying that “Mr Androulakis says things that can’t stand, the prime minister should be the leader of the first party.” In this context, he refused to cooperate with PASOK, noting that such a formation would be unstable.
“No” to other deputies
At the same time, Mr. Mitsotakis, wanting to finally close the “desertion” scenarios, categorically rejected that he would accept a vote of confidence in parliament that would not be based on an elected MP from the ND, adding that “I am not even discussing a government of tolerance, things like this have never happened before.” However, he insisted that the next government could be one-party “but not monochromatic”, leaving open the possibility of using leaders from outside the narrow core of the SI.
He trusted his generation
Alexis Tsipras, well aware of local issues, showed up in Tripoli yesterday, touring the less-right prefecture of the Peloponnese. As I learned, the reason for Tsipras’ good presence was Christos Staikos, Deputy MP for Arcadia, but mostly an old friend of President SYRIZA and his “generation.” Staikos, who is also the coordinator of the SYRIZA environmental department, had a detailed “briefing” with the president of the party before coming to Arcadia, so he was fully informed about local issues.
At the stand of N.D.
However, one of the sweetest things about Tsipras’s visit to Arcadia was that while walking along Tripoli’s pedestrian street, he passed in front of the New Democracy voting center, which was full of people. The president of SYRIZA came in and… greeted them, but did not wish them… good luck either.
Partnerships
Which SYRIZA MP in Northern Greece forged an electoral partnership with a mayoral candidate supported by… Velopoulos?
