Elections: deputies with or without a cross?

Problem

The complaint lodged with the Belgian authorities for “serious criminal offences” could only be viewed through an electoral lens. A case known to SYRIZA for three years now, as follows from the fact that Dimitris Papadimoulis, head of the party’s Eurogroup, called him to find out if the complaints were true. The case has so far revealed some disturbing trends in the public sphere. The most famous is the transformation of the election race into a muddy arena (now almost traditional). The most extreme is the public exposure of a woman who has filed a heinous act complaint (if proven) by posting obscene photos on her social media accounts. Journalists and other journalists, shut up.

Dilemma

A complaint against an MEP who was elected by the cross on the basis of his popularity, months after the case involving Eva Kylie, actually revealed how they were elected. It should be remembered that MEPs are elected in a Greek referendum, which means that artists, athletes and other people from the entertainment industry have an overwhelming advantage. Interior Minister Makis Voridis said yesterday that the current system “gives preference to people of high reputation.” And he expressed the opinion that the system should be evaluated after the elections. Mr Voridis said there are only two ways: return a list or smaller regions. In short, either a way will be found to keep the popular vote, or there will be a return to the system of the elected president of the party. Rocks ahead and stream behind. European elections will follow in 2024, so until then there may be time for a third and fourth reflection.

Face

The political discourse of the KKE cannot be described as “fresh” or innovative. However, c.g. KKE Dimitris Koutsoubas is a communicative phenomenon that can only compete with PASOK’s green-sun vintage wares that occasionally appear in various (not necessarily quality) storefronts. In addition to interviews and paper cutting phrases (“…but you…”), Dimitris Koutsoubas’ next track was turning into an Easter candle. Diakosmos himself was a KKE gg with catchy lumpen (from the name of a famous site) phrases like “where did you find those water bottles?” and “… it’s good that Livadia is without any reason.” I learn that the torch has been caught in not-so-anti-capitalist places like Hydra, Spetses, Mykonos and beyond. Of course, in Perissos they do not want to make Mr. Koutsoubas either a leader or an influential person. But with 420,000 people aged 17 to 21 voting for the first time on May 21… the end justifies the means. With the second election being ignored by the majority, the next step would be to print Mr. Koutsoubas on beach towels. Hopefully not in Christmas decoration…

Place

Scaramagas and the Great Pine. It is here that the Underwater Disaster Control Center and the Special Forces Training Center are located, respectively. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis was there yesterday to watch some of the stunts performed on the ground, in the air, above and below the sea by special forces. Present – with an indistinct photographic separation – National Defense Minister Nikos Panagiotopoulos, Deputy Minister Nikos Hardalias and GETHA head Konstantinos Floros. For the Prime Minister, of course, the goal was much more political. National defense and foreign policy are considered privileged areas for the SI. and decided to highlight them as much as possible. Starting with equipment and ending with personnel benefits, which, however, did not satisfy all branches of the Armed Forces.

Proverb

“Politics and basketball have similarities.” This was stated by PASOK President Nikos Androulakis in an interview with basketball journalist (and candidate from his party in Rethymno) Vassilis Skundis. Mr. Androulakis had a lot to say about teamwork, which supposedly has to do with politics and basketball, but he probably regretted it along the way. Otherwise, we learned that he admired Nikos Galis and the blessed Drazen Petrovich. Let me remind you, a few days ago, he gave Lamia the basketball uniform of the team… PASOK. In two months of pre-election periods, we will hear many more, more three-pointers and more … three meters of air ball.
