“I am very pleased that today I have the opportunity to visit a dynamically developing Greek company. It is here, I would say, that the heart of productive Greece beats, and we are really happy when the dynamic Greek business feels safe to invest, expand, grow, claim new markets,” the Prime Minister stressed. Kyriakos Mitsotakiswhich was found at the natural mineral water bottling plant CHITOS ABEE, the first stop of his visit to the regional branch of Ioannina.
The Prime Minister was given a tour of the largest and fastest production line in Europe, with a capacity of about 81,000 half-litre bottles per hour, was briefed on the operation of the company by owner Nikos Chitos, and had the opportunity to speak with employees.
“It’s really impressive, few people know that here, in the heart of Epirus, Europe’s largest natural mineral water bottling line operates – not in Greece, but in Europe. And I want to convey from here the constant support that the Greek state will provide to all dynamically developing enterprises that, by increasing their activity, also offer many well-paid jobs,” said the Prime Minister.
Digital and Green Business Transformation
“You are right in saying that the big challenges of the next day are, on the one hand, to have a satisfied, well-trained and well-paid human resource, and on the other hand, to adapt to cleaner production imperatives. You are already doing this by adding recyclable materials to your packaging as well as placing photovoltaic cells on rooftops so that you not only have green energy, but also cheaper energy. This is the path of the future, the digital and environmental transformation of our business, and we continue to support such initiatives,” said Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
“Finally, let me say a few words about the merger you are starting. As you may know, we have provided a range of tax and other incentives to encourage businesses to take these steps. Size is important, it is what ensures the best performance and the best competitiveness and of course the best position of Greek products in foreign markets,” said the Prime Minister.
Mr. Mitsotakis was welcomed by owners Nikos and Alkis Chitos, CEO Yannis Sotos and technical manager Christos Prentzas.
Welcoming the Prime Minister, Nikos Chitos said: “It is a great honor for our company that today we welcome the Prime Minister of the country to our facilities to get to know our strength, and this is, first of all, our people, look at our facilities, see the largest in Europe, a bottling line for natural mineral water Zagori.
