“I really believe that the EU can play a catalytic role to bring the Turkish side back to the negotiating table where they left off in 2017,” said Nikos Christodoulidis.

In a tweet on Twitter, the President of the European Commission says: “I am delighted to have met with President Christodoulides in front of the European Council. We discussed his proposal to resume negotiations on the settlement of the Cyprus issue within the agreed framework. We also discussed how to further support Ukraine and solve the problem of circumventing our sanctions in Russia.”
