The last farewell to Nektarios Santorinios was also delivered by the parliamentary representative of SYRIZA, Panos Skourletis, noting that “his death casts a heavy shadow on the entire Parliament.”

“Nectarios has fought an unequal battle in recent years. Nevertheless, he gave it with dignity and morality, and just a few days ago, being aware of the state of his health, in a public statement he presented his “gift” to our struggle, the struggle of his faction, a struggle that has always served with perseverance, self-sacrifice, fighting spirit and militancy. He loved his homeland, the Dodecanese, Rhodes, he fought for isolation here in parliament, he gave the rest of his life, and for this he was loved by his compatriots. We all bow before him and will remember him,” said Mr. Skurletis.

The position of the late Dodecanese MP Nektarios Santorini is taken by Dimitris Gakis, who came in second.
