Just the day before yesterday, the General Accounting Office of the State (GAL) notified the Ministry of National Defense that a fund of 19 million euros (the amount is calculated on the basis of a study prepared by GEN), which corresponds to P.N. has been secured and the plan announced by the Prime Minister can proceed. It is worth noting that this is an allowance that can significantly differentiate the final salary of officers and non-commissioned officers serving in surface and underwater units, and is calculated – depending on the rank – from about 100-120 euros to 400-450 euros. euros per month for the period when they will be on sea missions. The average maritime service of fleet crews is about 200 days a year.

An additional proposal has been submitted by GEETHA to include Army and Air Force Special Forces in the same category of beneficiaries. The main reason was to have a provision that included all types of weapons. The direction that the Department of National Defense appears to be heading is for 80% of the “special mission allowance,” as it will be called, to go to PN fleet crews. and the remaining 20% ​​in favor of the special forces who perform specific tasks that justify this. The rest of the money that will be sent to the special forces is estimated at 5-6 million euros, and in order to secure it, a new request will have to be made from the Ministry of National Defense to the Ministry of Finance.
