Party experts are to work with the Ministry of Education to ensure that the draft laws on education are adopted by the government by February 15 and voted on by parliament by March 15, the quoted sources said.

Last week, Prime Minister Nicolae Chuke announced that discussions were underway to finalize a package of education laws so that they could be debated in parliament after the parliamentary session begins. Chuke clarified that projects in the field of education have also been prepared, which include a number of measures to modernize hospitals in the country.

At the same time, Education Minister Ligia Deka announced in late December that the education laws would be released after the public consultation process was completed and would most likely go to parliament at the start of the parliamentary session in February.

Education laws proposed by former minister Sorin Kimpeanu were heavily criticized in the press and the minister had to resign.

PSD, PNL and UDMR met on Tuesday, in the Government, at the first meeting of this year. Among the topics discussed by the leaders of the Coalition were the debt related to the achievement of benchmarks in the PNRR and national education laws.
