
The Ministry of Finance is starting to fund the design of a second, more sophisticated unmanned aerial vehicle (drone), using the consistent progress and know-how gained through the Architas program for research, development and industrial use. production of the first autonomous multipurpose aircraft by the broader public sector.
In this context, under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of National Defense, the Hellenic Aviation Industry (EAB) and the four universities of the country – the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the University of Democritus of Thrace, the University of Thessaly and the University of Patras – proceed to sign a memorandum of cooperation on the development and industrial production of a new aircraft .
The Memorandum of Cooperation will be signed tomorrow at 14.00 at an event at the Ministry of Finance with the participation of Minister Christos Staikouras and Minister of National Defense Nikos Panagiotopoulos by the administration of the EAB and the rectors of four Universities.
According to the relevant announcement, the Ministry of Finance, as the main shareholder of EAB, wishing to promote the further development of domestic know-how in innovative sectors, in order to increase the competitiveness of the company and the country as a whole, has decided to support and finance another important program, which is expected to bring numerous benefits for the authorities involved and, more broadly, for the scientific community, the Greek economy and our country as a whole.
