its president PASOK-Movement for Change, Nikos Androulakis in his statement on Mr. Dogyakov’s opinion, he accused the prime minister and the government of “gross abuse of the institutions on the altar of the cover-up,” to which he specifically mentions.
Mr. Androulakis added that “they are preventing the honest judge Mr. Rammos, who heads an independent body set up to have institutional balances in our republic, to do his job and continue the investigation.”
President PASOK-KINAL characteristically reasoned: “This is because the Prime Minister wants to go to the upcoming elections, keeping the Greek people in total darkness about the real implications of this painful case.”
He also noted that “I noted from the very beginning that this wiretapping story is not a personal issue, but a democracy issue, it is a question of institutions, the rule of law, the separation of powers. And above all, this concerns the struggle of many generations of Greeks for democracy to come to our homeland.”
“As a Democratic Party, we will not allow this slide that Kyriakos Mitsotakis is forcing on the country by exposing it internationally,” concluded President PASOK-KINAL in a statement.
