
A meeting is currently taking place in Maximos with the Prime Minister regarding a presidential decree appointing artists in the state.
According to government spokesman Yannis Oikonomou, the meeting will be attended by all co-authors from the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of the Interior and the State Audit Office.
According to Mr. Economou, the government is planning a comprehensive proposal for arts education.
“It is known that the DP has corrected the distorted situation, and our government is moving towards eliminating this distortion. Especially for the issue of art education, a committee of individuals will be created, which will study in depth the issues of improving art education,” Mr. Oikonomu emphasized during a briefing for political editors.
It should be reminded that the specified decree of the President caused a reaction and mobilization from the artistic world, as it was believed that those who graduated from theater schools were equated to high school graduates.
For his part, Deputy Minister of Culture Nicolas Giatromanolakis, after a meeting with representatives of the artists, explained that presidential decree No. 85/2022 does not equate the title of theater sketches with a certificate of secondary education, does not apply to admissions to the ministry. education, nor the recruitment of artists in the state who are excluded from ASEP.
