PSD leader Marcel Čolaku, president of the Chamber of Deputies, says he is not afraid that his political stance will bring him criminal problems, as has happened to some of his colleagues, the latest of whom was Nikulae Bedalau. He says that he talked about it with his son, who allegedly told him that he had chosen a “dangerous job!”.
The leader of the PSD reacted to the case of Nikulai Badelau, the vice-president of the Accounting Chamber, who was detained and then arrested for corruption.
- “It has already been decided, and we requested that at the first joint session of the parliament we replace him from his position. He was not a member of the Social Democratic Party, but we were colleagues. Let’s wait.
- This is the decision of some judges and the prosecutor to detain him for 24 hours. In Croatia, there have been cases of corruption in the government, which means that we live in a normal country.
- We don’t have to think that they are pesedists or users, Clotilda has criminal problems.
- I came out of it, I don’t think there are occult forces that followed Badelau. There are personal mistakes,” Marcel Čolaku said when asked by RTV on Thursday evening about news of Nikulae Badelau’s arrest, News.ro reported.
The leader of the PSD stated that he is not engaged in business, saying that if you combine them with politics, it will turn out badly:
- “This implies the status when you are in the Court of Accounts. We must learn our roles in life.
- I’m not in business. Either you remain a politician, or you engage in business, when you combine, the result is not the same, we have dozens of examples from all sides.”
In this context, he spoke about a conversation on this topic with his son, who allegedly told him that he had chosen a “dangerous job!”:
- “One time I was watching TV with my son and there was a friend of mine who was a convict and he said, ‘Dude, old man, you got yourself a dangerous job!’
- That’s all, no one is forcing us! It’s good to take on these functions and decide what you want to do. There are mistakes when you involve the family in decisions or when you try to run a business, it’s better not to combine them.”
The assembled plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate was convened on Monday to vote on the dismissal of the Vice-President of the Chamber of Accounts, Nikulae Badelau, after he was left in custody.
Magistrates of the Bucharest Court of Appeal on Monday ruled on the preventive arrest of Baron de Giurgi Nicolai Bedalau at the request of DNA, which had detained him the day before for bribery in a continuous form and abuse of influence.
Bădălău – the current vice-president of the Chamber of Accounts – is accused of paying 170,000 euros in bribes to the mayor of Giurgiu County in exchange for public works contracts.
