Greek-Turkish: Akar irritated by Greek weapons programs

Turkish Defense Minister Angry Again Hulusi Akar for Greece equipment programs. Mr. Akar accused Athens of “trying to damage peace and stability with weapons.”

In his statements, he said that “we are in favor of a peaceful solution to the problems between Greece and Turkey. But we will not allow our rights to be violated in the same way as the rights of our Cypriot brothers, and everyone should know that we will not allow anything.”

“In an inexplicable way, our Greek neighbors, especially some politicians, and I must emphasize this, with a thirst for weapons programs, are trying to do everything to damage peace and stability between the two countries. We are for dialogue, but we will not allow violations of our rights.”

Kalin: Turkey does not want tension, but will not leave anything unanswered

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Turkish president, Ibrahim Kalin, said that Turkey does not support tensions, while stressing that Ankara “will leave nothing unanswered.” He urged the US and EU countries such as France “not to encourage Greece to engage in uneducated behaviour.”

As he emphasized in his statements, “We are neighbors with Greece. We will continue to share this geography on the principle that geography is destiny. We believe that the normalization, friendship, brotherhood and good relations between Turkey and Greece will benefit both countries, the Aegean and the entire region.”

However, he added that “of course, Turkey will respond to any possible move in the opposite direction. Turkey will leave nothing unanswered. In other words, when our territorial waters are violated, when our airspace is violated, when we are accused, when unfair claims or slander are made, when borders are violated, when propaganda actions are carried out against Turkey, etc., do not leave all this unanswered.”

“However, in the end, Greece does not gain anything from all this. The Greek side cannot win any of this. Because I just told you. If the Greek side seeks political gain from Turkey by riding a foreign wave, it must know that this wave will not last forever. Waves come and go. And what will you do when the situation changes? What will you do when the wave is no more, when you come face to face with Turkey? So they don’t need all that. This is what we always say. Of course, next year we will have elections together with Greece. So they may try to score some points at home by exacerbating anti-Turkish sentiment in the context of domestic political dynamics. But this will not help Greece, the Greek people, it will not contribute to their economy and well-being,” continued Mr. Kalin and concluded:

“Turkey is a big country. We want to have good relations with Greece. We don’t want tension, we don’t want tension, we don’t want disputes, we don’t want conflicts on our borders. We do more than our fair share. From immigration to reinforcement Coast Guard In all these areas we are doing more than we should, both as the southern wing of NATO and as a border with the EU The United States and some European countries, let me name them, especially France … Our call to them is: do not encourage Greece to perverse behavior in which she will take advantage of these conditions. They should also advise and recommend to Greece what common sense suggests in this direction. We will all benefit from this.”
