They left today, after months of negotiations with Iran. ships under the Greek flag “Prudent Warrior” and “Delta Poseidon” which remained reserved as of May 27, 2022.
The final agreement was reached today in Tehran in the presence of Deputy Minister of Shipping and Island Policy Kostas Katsafados.
On this occasion, the Minister of Shipping and Island Policy, Yannis Plakiotakis, stated:
“Today is a very pleasant day for our seafarers, as well as for Greece as a whole, because after the systematic efforts of the Greek government, an unpleasant and especially difficult case has come to an end.
I want to thank everyone who contributed to today’s happy ending. From the very first moment, the Greek government made strenuous efforts to achieve a happy ending.
I would also like to warmly thank the sailors of the ships for the patience and trust they have shown us during all the past difficult days, as well as the shipowners of the two ships for our cooperation.
The Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy and the Coast Guard will always be at the side of our seafarers in any problem that may arise anywhere in the world.
Today’s positive developments are further confirmation of our commitment to this goal and our continued efforts to serve and protect the interests of Greek shipping and our seafarers in the best possible way.”
