
The US Secretary of State had a telephone conversation about the importance of stability in the Eastern Mediterranean, as well as about recent developments in Ukraine. Anthony Blinkenwith the Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The State Department statement notes that “Secretary (Blinken) and Prime Minister Mitsotakis discussed efforts to support Ukraine’s security in the face of Russia’s unjustified and unprovoked war and the importance of ensuring stability in the Eastern Mediterranean. The Minister expressed his gratitude for the efforts of Greece as a key ally and partner of NATO.”
Earlier, the Prime Minister tweeted: “Constructive call today with @SecBlinken. We discussed our close coordination as NATO allies to help Ukraine defend against Russia, as well as recent developments in the Eastern Mediterranean.”
