Prime Minister Nicolae Chuke will visit Brussels on October 26-27, 2022, where he will meet with several European officials and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, the government said on Wednesday.

Government sources said the prime minister would go alone, without PSD leader Marcel Čolaka, and a review of the PNRR would also be on the agenda for discussion, especially the 9.4% of GDP pension.

Prime Minister Nicolae Chuke and other members of the government have repeatedly stated that they do not agree with the percentage of 9.4% of GDP for total pension costs, the percentage currently provided for in the PNRR.

A month ago, PSD leader Marcel Čolaku said he might also go to Brussels for pension talks. “It is quite possible that both the Prime Minister and I will go together to conduct these negotiations with the European Commission,” Čolaku said.
