Marcel Cholaku claims that no PSD member has attacked Prime Minister Nicolae Chuke and warns PNL leaders to calm down their people who are making statements against the PSD. The leader of the Social Democrats says that the current Coalition “is the best option at the moment”, but if it is no longer working, the only solution is waiting.

“I believe that at the moment the best option is this coalition. It would be good, however, to put all those who come out without asking questions and rattle stupidly to assert themselves, this is a ladder phenomenon, if you take a leader… Not a single member of the SDP, there is no leader of the SDP In the country, not a single member of parliament, a member of the government or a local leader said nothing to Mr. Nicolae Cuke, Prime Minister of Romania and President of the National Liberal Party. Perhaps the Liberal gentlemen who are looking at us now and their leaders will understand something from what I have conveyed to them. No one,” said Marcel Colacu on Romanian television.

When asked about the option of early elections, the SDP leader said that they are “not appropriate” in the current context of the energy crisis and the war on the border with Romania. However, he did not rule out early elections if this coalition with the PNL does not work.

“If this coalition doesn’t work, and we still don’t try to come to common sense – when you start cursing the Swedish board, you’ve crossed the red line – if this coalition doesn’t work, there’s nothing we can do, back to the Romanian vote. Romanians are always right, and that’s the end of the discussion. This is not the end of the country,” the SDP leader added.
