After calling her out to make it clear what position she will run for in the 2024 elections, Marcel Çolaku calls Gabriela Firea his friend. The PSD president said on Friday at the TSD summer school that he is trying to restore a “climate of comrades” within the PSD.

“Gabriela Firea is my colleague and friend. We both learn from each other. We also have different opinions, that’s a normal thing, something that ultimately ensures democracy within the party. We allow ourselves, because we sometimes get bored, to shoot each other, but within the limits of common sense and respect,” said the PSD leader to the young social democrats.

The SDP leader wanted to clarify that he had never crossed the red line with any of his colleagues, on the contrary. “I am trying, together with Gabriela and all my colleagues, to bring back the climate of comrades in the PSD, which for a short period of time was not the flag. On the contrary, he led the enmity, with the clear intention of dividing and conquering,” said Cholaku.

In response, Gabriela Firea, present at the event, said: “Mr. President, as always, he knows how to dot the i. Many times politicians dress up beautiful words and metaphors in what they want to convey and unfortunately some of them hide encrypted messages which then turn into poisoned messages, which was never the case with our party president Marcel Čolaku. Thank you for your honesty and objectivity,” Firea said.

Her statement came in the context of PSD leader Marcel Colacu saying that Gabriela Firea cannot run for Bucharest mayor’s office and in the 2024 presidential elections.
