Monitoring: Inquiry with 4 questions from PASOK

The opening of parliament yesterday was, as expected, the first step in PASOK’s parliamentary counterattack over the Nikos Androulakis surveillance case. The counterattack, which was expressed in two steps: firstly, with a request for a new meeting of the Committee on Institutions and Transparency, with a request to summon five people – Mr. Contoleon and Mr. Demiris (ie successor) to the hearing; Grigoris Dimitriadis, Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor General’s Office Vasiliki Vlakhov and ADAE President Christos Rammos. Secondly, with the proposal to create a commission of inquiry into the Androulakis case without direct reference to a “reverse” extension of the term. In his proposal Har. Trikoupi poses questions in four main areas:

• Who demanded surveillance of the PASOK president and for what reason?

• Who tried to hack their phone using Predator? Is there a link to EYP monitoring?

Among other things, he wants Parliament to investigate who demanded surveillance of Androulakis and who used the Predator software.

• When did politicians and others have malware attachments or traps, and over what period of time? Who can use Predator in Greece and what is their relationship with politicians and government officials?

• Who owns the EYP wiretap content? Was the established procedure for notification of relevant prosecution provisions followed? To what services, organizational units and individuals have files generated by the EYP interface been disclosed?

And while other parties are expected to move on the exam issue in the coming days to judge whether PASOK’s proposal will end up being the only one that will be brought to the plenary on Monday, the green camp has launched a bitter fight. an attack on the government because at the conference of presidents the ruling majority decided that the hearings of the “five” in the Committee of Institutions should be held next week, i.e. after the “battle” of the leaders.

From Char. Trikoupis spoke of a clear attempt to cover himself with a “sterile toxic political confrontation”, in particular asking the premier a question: “Based on Maximos’s non-existent leaks, will there be a pre-day executive-level discussion, Mr. Mitsotakis?” Without the protagonists of the case not informing Parliament?”
