
A major traffic accident involving a passenger bus, an ambulance, a fire engine and an Ihlas news agency car took place on Saturday, August 20, on the Tarsus-Adana-Gaziantep highway in southern Turkey.
The bus collided with a parked ambulance and hit a fire truck and a news agency vehicle. They were at the scene of a previous accident. As a result, the bus fell into a ditch and overturned. 16 people were killed, a further 22 were injured of varying severity.
According to the Turkish news agency Anadolu, the accident happened around 10:45 am local time (coincides with Moscow). It is known that among the dead are firefighters, doctors and journalists, said the governor of the homonymous region Davut Gul. All victims were hospitalized. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
