Senator George Mindruce announced on Thursday evening his resignation from the USR and from the position of president of the Suceava district branch, News.ro reports. “The feeling that is testing me is a great disappointment,” the senator said.
“Today, I officially submitted an application to withdraw from the ESR party, in particular from the position of the president of the Suchav district unit. The feeling that tests me is a great disappointment. I’m not sorry to be leaving USR, I’m sorry for some of the good people who are staying there,” Sen. George Mindrutze wrote on Facebook Thursday night.
He claims he could list “a long list of reasons” that led to his resignation.
“Since the beginning of the merger between USR and PLUS, there have been disputes and conflicting opinions, but they have been misdirected into internal conflicts, rather than evolution and transparency as desired. The internal disputes are fueled by various alleged leaders and power-seeking groups who put personal and group interests above their obligations to the Romanian people,” the senator also wrote.
According to him, for some, “the desire for power, to have as many titles as possible and to have influence.”
“I regretfully notice in recent months the lack of reaction of the leadership of the UDR with concrete actions to the reported problems in the industry that I represent, and not only. The sheen of the big words used by some leaders has begun to wear off. I want to thank all those who have been with me and can be sure that I will remain faithful to the principles and values that prompted me to enter politics, and my main concern as a member of the Senate is to promote ideas and projects that serve the interests of Romanians”, – also wrote the senator.
