The SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance press release stated that the proposal by the leader of the official opposition, Alexis Tsipras, to hold an extraordinary parliamentary session and to discuss the issue of wiretapping “related to an immediate discussion so that answers could be given here and now.”

However, as the same statement complained, “Mr. Mitsotakis has finally scheduled this debate for the week after August 22, apparently to buy time and try to neutralize the ‘bomb’ with his propaganda apparatus.”

“The government has announced that it accepts the proposal of the leader of the main opposition to hold an extraordinary meeting of parliament and put the issue of wiretapping on the agenda.”

“However, the request was that the discussion be held immediately so that answers can be given here and now.”
