Background to the wiretapping investigation

Possibility of formation Parliamentary Investigation Committee in the case of attempted wiretapping of the mobile phone of Mr. N. Androulakis seems to be the first “fiery front” of the political system with the resumption of plenary sessions and its committees. parliamentshortly after the August 15th holiday.

Information it is reported that the leadership of the official opposition party has actually decided to take such a step after a similar move it made at the end of last year – thus “to finance the media and public opinion polls.” His goal SYRIZA consists, on the one hand, in rekindling the conflict atmosphere with the ruling majority after the total head-on clashes of the previous period, and on the other hand, once again conveying the message that it has the initiative to create conditions for joint action with parties more wide left center. mr. Al. Tsipras in a recent interview, after all, he was absolutely clear. In particular, he said, referring to the controversial case, that “a common position of all democratic opposition parties is also necessary.”

However, PASOK, which is also the main beneficiary of Kumunduru’s strategic move under consideration, does not at all want to become a “comparison”, and even then in a case that concerns the new leader of the party personally. Mr. Androulakis made it clear a few days ago, speaking in Chania: “Until the day before yesterday, we heard Mr. Tsipras say that PASOK found it with N.D. Today we hear Mr. Mitsotakis say that because of “Predator“We found them together with SYRIZA. They probably both want us to get along with their opponent to make sure we’re a tool in their hands. So, I tell them today that we are not a tool in their hands.”

Initially, it was said that SYRIZA would try to submit a joint proposal with the party most interested in this issue, PASOK. However, given that the reports of Harilaou Trikoupis in such a case were absolutely negative, the new information brought Komundura to the side to try to “political conclusion” of the party of Mr. Androulakis: its deputies would vote for the aforementioned SYRIZA proposal. .

Somewhere here, in the background, the political chess game began to take on the character of a fierce bra de fer, not only between the authorities and the opposition, but also between the two largest opposition parties.

From the point of view of PASOK management, it is estimated that the scenario of rushing first and submitting a proposal for an examination recommendation for wiretapping: Recently – at the initiative and proposal of the ND – the revised Constitution and the new Rules of Procedure of Parliament allow the opposition to demand something similar with only ten parliamentary signatures. In PASOK, we recall, there is a deputy group of 22 deputies. Such a green initiative is supposed to neutralize the aforementioned SYRIZA trap and reverse the roles: the main opposition party will be asked to vote for the PASOK proposal.

Of course, the sum of deputies from the two parties (22 plus 85 from SYRIZA) is not enough to get the necessary minimum majority of 2/5 of the national delegation so that an opposition-initiated investigation can be started. . A gap of 13 people remaining to 120 deputies of the minimum majority, however, it is believed that this can be covered by 15 deputies of the Communist Party and seven deputies of MePA25, who, based on available data, should give a positive vote when the issue comes to an extraordinary meeting of the Plenum.
