
The Ministry of Health announces 439 new cases of infection with the coronavirus, which is 620 less than the previous day, and 6 deaths.
“For the last day, 439 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) were registered, which is 620 less than the previous day. 85 of the new cases in 24 hours are from re-infected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection,” the Ministry of Health said on Sunday, as quoted by news.ro.
The cited source clarified that, in contrast to the new confirmed cases, after retesting patients who were already positive, 33 people received a repeat positive result.
According to the Ministry of Health, the number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 in specialized medical institutions is 1,357, which is 41 more than the previous day.
“Also, 129 people were hospitalized in ATI, which is 6 more than the previous day. Of the 129 patients admitted to the HTI, 117 are unvaccinated. Of the total number of hospitalized, 124 are minors, 123 are hospitalized in wards, 3 more than the previous day, and 1 in the intensive care unit, 1 less than the previous day,” the source said.

Among the 6 fatal cases, 2 were registered in the age category of 60-69 years, 2 in the age category of 70-79 years, and 2 in the age category of over 80 years.
All the deceased had concomitant diseases, none of them had been vaccinated.
Over the last day, 1,615 RT-PCR tests were performed (771 according to the case definition and medical protocol and 844 according to the request) and 4,368 rapid antigen tests. To date, 13,494,237 RT-PCR tests and 11,534,308 rapid antigen tests have been processed at the national level.
