Over the last day, 1,474 new cases of COVID-19 were registered, which is 568 more than the previous day, as well as three deaths, the Ministry of Health reported on Monday.

320 of the new cases are re-infected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the initial infection. In contrast to newly confirmed cases, 56 people tested positive again after retesting patients who had already tested positive.

The most new cases – 204 – were recorded in Bucharest. Less than 10 new cases were registered in ten districts, and there was no disease in Kovasna.

1,941 people with COVID-19 were hospitalized in specialized medical institutions, which is 66 more than the previous day. Also, 156 people were hospitalized in ATZ, which is 5 more than the previous day. Of the 156 patients admitted to the HTP, 127 are unvaccinated.

Of the total number of hospitalized, 264 are minors, 263 are hospitalized in the department, 39 more compared to the previous day, and 1 in the HMT, 3 less than the previous day.

By Monday, 66,856 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 had died in Romania. In the last day, 3 deaths were registered (2 men and 1 woman), in the age category of 60-69 years (1), in the age category of 70-79 years (1) and in the age category over 80 years. (1). Two of the deceased patients had comorbidities, 1 patient had no comorbidities, and one patient had been vaccinated.
