US President Joe Biden tested positive for Covid-19 again on Thursday but is doing “very well”, his personal doctor Kevin O’Connor said, according to Reuters and Agerpres.
Biden still has a “very occasional” cough, but it’s decreasing in intensity, a doctor said in his daily update on the president’s health after contracting the virus.
For now, the head of the White House continues to work in isolation.
Biden tested positive for Covid-19 for the first time on July 21, appeared to have recovered from treatment for the coronavirus, and subsequently had several negative tests, so he came out of isolation last Wednesday.
But he tested positive again on Saturday, a situation that has since been repeated daily in what the White House doctor called a “relapse,” a case seen in a small percentage of patients treated with the antiviral drug Paxlovid.
