His manager, Mitch Clem, said his death was “a sad day for Hollywood.”

“Glynis went through life with intelligence, wit and a love of acting that touched the lives of millions,” he said during the tribute.

“Today is a dark day for Hollywood. We mourn not only the death of our dear Glynis, but also the end of the golden age of Hollywood,” he added.
She also won a Tony Award in 1973 for her role as Desiree Armfeldt in Stephen Sondheim’s Broadway musical A Little Night Music, in which she performed “Send in the Clowns.”
Sondheim wrote the play specifically for Jones, but she lost the role to Elizabeth Taylor in the 1977 film.
“I’ve always said ‘Send In The Clowns’ is the best present I’ve ever received,” she told the AP news agency.
