For the first time in over six decades, the awards Oscar – The biggest event in Hollywood is the color change of the established red carpet.
The first exits on the red carpet mark the beginning of the awards ceremony. Just before entering the Dolby Theater for the awards, movie stars show up in stylish and eccentric outfits, turning the red carpet into a rite of passage.
But this year, instead of a red carpet, guests will walk down a champagne red carpet.

The new color was unveiled on Wednesday by the host of this year’s ceremony, Jimmy Kimmel. “This carpet is so beautiful,” Kimmel said during the unveiling of the new carpet in front of the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. He then joked that the change was due to Will Smith’s on-stage slap on Chris Rock the previous year.
“People ask me if there will be any problems this year, if there will be any violent incidents. I hope not. I think his decision to choose a beige carpet instead of a red one shows how confident we are that there will be no bloodshed this year.”
One wonders how many more changes are being prepared for the evening of Sunday, March 12 (early Monday morning, March 13 in Greece) in the Academy’s attempt to attract new viewers.
