The teaser, which places the film in a world where Barbie “breaks” the girls’ tradition of toys they play with, also shows footage Ryan Gosling as Ken and Simu Liu to dance.
The project director is Greta Gerwig (“Lady Bird”, “Little Women”), and Gerwig co-wrote the screenplay with Noah Baubach (“Marriage Story”, “White Noise”). The cast includes America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Michael Cira, Will Ferrell, Kingsley Ben-Adir and more.
The film was in development for eight years and many changes were made before the final cut.
