Famous American comedian Jay Leno was taken to Grossman Burn Medical Center with facial burns in a garage in Los Angeles after one of his cars caught fire, Reuters reported.
The left side of the face of the former host of “The Tonight Show” received burns, but Leno’s eye and ear were not badly damaged.
Leno confirmed the news in a statement to Variety magazine, saying, “I got seriously burned with gasoline. I’m fine. I just need a week or two to get back on my feet.”
Jay Leno (72) was one of America’s most popular TV hosts, drawing an estimated 4.8 million viewers to his five-night-a-week show. In 2009, he left the late-night show and was replaced by Conan O’Brien.
After leaving The Tonight Show in 2015, Leno created his own CNBC series called Jay Leno’s Garage.
